It doesn’t matter what you eat or how much you work out if you want to lose weight and keep it off. It’s a drive. It’s important to stay excited about what you want to do to reach your goals, become more physically fit, and live a healthier life!
Unfortunately, most of us have a hard time being motivated. Sure, it’s easy to start dieting and working out for a few weeks and keep going for a while; but soon, most of us lose our focus and give up.
Often, we gain back all the weight we lost, and then some. This can be very bad for our self-esteem and make it even more difficult for us to try to lose weight in the future, so this can be very bad for us.
The good news is that you can find ways to stay motivated and stay focused on your weight loss goals if you know-how. In the long run, you’ll find that it’s much easier to keep the weight off if you can get this level of focus.
You can also use the tips they gave us to help you stay motivated.
• Know that your subconscious is the biggest thing that is keeping you from being motivated. You know that you want to lose weight on a conscious level, but your subconscious may not be on the same page as you. It is full of negative thoughts that think that you will fail. If that’s the case, you need to change your subconscious expectations for yourself. Negative reviews usually run through our minds, but we can change them. Keep your negative thoughts from running away and instead think of positive things when they come up in your head. Over time, this will become a habit, and your subconscious will no longer be able to sabotage your weight loss and healthy living goals. People who want to lose actual weight must break the chains in their minds that are stopping them.
Make sure you have a friend on a diet with you and set them up as a quick call on your phone. Both of you can help each other. When you want to break your diet or skip the gym, call them and let them talk you into doing the right thing. Be there for them in the same ways. There is a better chance that you and your partner will both stick to your weight loss and exercise plans when you work together.
• Don’t think about how hard it is to lose weight. If you think about how much work it is to lose weight and stay healthy all the time, this will make your brain think about bad things. That isn’t good. Don’t let yourself think about the bad stuff. Instead, think about all the good stuff when you lose weight. Make a list if you need to. You’ll be much less likely to give up on your weight loss plan by focusing on the good.
• Take a picture of yourself in the mirror every week. Post this picture where you can see it every day. Each week, add a new photo. To stay on track with your goals, you should be able to see how much progress you are making. This will make it much easier for you to stay on track.
• Make a blog about your weight-loss plans. By writing about what you’re doing once or twice a week, you can keep track of your progress and work out your inner demons. Besides that, you’ll get people to comment on your blog and help you keep going with it.
• Treat yourself now and then. Set a simple goal, like losing five pounds, and then work toward that one thing. As soon as you set a goal, go out and buy yourself something nice. Instead of waiting for the paperback of your favorite author to come out, buy the book in hardcover right away. Shop for your favorite movie on Blu-Ray. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s something you like and wouldn’t usually buy for yourself and that you’ll enjoy.
• Don’t give up if you make a mistake. Everyone has flaws. A machine isn’t a human. A slice of chocolate cake will happen sometimes. It does. But don’t treat it as if it’s the last time. Many people think that they should give up once they’ve gone off their diet once. Don’t! Instead, try to figure out why you were tempted and spend a little more time at the gym this week to figure it out.
If you want to make working out more fun, look for ways to make it more interesting. Most people don’t find it very motivating to sit on a stationary bike in the gym and not do anything. Many people give up, and it’s easy to be bored and give up too quickly. Why not try a new sport? Making new friends and playing a game will help you burn calories simultaneously, so you’ll have a lot of fun. You won’t want to let them down when your team is down.
• Keep temptation away from your home. This is important. When you’re alone and watching TV, you’re more likely to break down and eat something you shouldn’t. Go through your cupboards and get rid of the food that makes you want to eat more. Go to the grocery store and buy a lot of healthy food there. Make sure you throw away all of your take-out menus. You will be much less likely to break your diet if there aren’t any temptations around you, like candy and soda. A moment of temptation will pass, and you’ll be back on track and motivated to stay healthy and fit.
• Make a fun playlist for your iPod. You might not want to stop exercising if you listen to fast, upbeat music while you do it.
Keep up with people trying to lose weight and get fit by following their blogs. To understand that you are not alone, read about how other people have lost weight. Plus, you might learn some new ways to lose weight and be able to share your story with other people.
Many people have used these tips to stay motivated so that they lose weight and keep it off, which has made a big difference in their lives.
The best way to start is to add one of these tips to your life each week. Over time, you’ll begin to see the body you’ve always wanted in the mirror.
